Wedding Second Photographer / Assistant
My name’s Marty Walker, and I’m a Sydney and Blue Mountains-based abstract and fine art photographer who also co-photographs* weddings. My style and approach are best suited to those weddings who want to go beyond traditionally posed wedding photos (although I can do that too). I am quiet and unobtrusive, and aim to creatively capture those spontaneous and ephemeral moments of a wedding in a unique way. You can see a portfolio of my wedding photographs here. * I really dislike the expression second shooter given the level on gun-violence on this little planet of ours. Surely ‘second photographer’ or ‘co-photographer’ are more apt labels.
I live in the Blue Mountains with my wife, our two kids and a miniature dachshund called Pickle. With a background in graphic and web design, my journey to photography started many years ago but gathered pace in 2014. Since then I've studied at TAFE, been a finalist in the ‘Australian Life’ exhibition in Hyde Park, had my work purchased by a regional gallery, and have exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art and at the Head On Photographic Festival.
